If your potential target search is something very specific to
you like say, your companies name, then you stand a decent chance
of getting ranked highly, but if you want to be found in a large
category like "gifts" you are going to have to think
about paying for a decent ranking. If it all sounds a bit complicated
and confusing, you are correct. I highly suggest you do some homework
and research for yourself, search engine ranking and web promotion.
The more knowledge and education you bring to your project the
better off you are. For books on the topic go to Amazon.com
and type in keywords like "search engine" or "web
site promotion". You can also do a lot of research on the
internet by typing in the same keywords in the search engines.
Ironic twist isn't it? Going to the search engines to search for
information about search engines. O'Neal Design
will be glad to advise you and help you along. Remember search
engines are only a part of promoting your web site. For more tips
on promoting your site I have provided another resource to help
you out. PROMOTING YOUR SITE!
Links to Search
Engines to submit your site.
Some are free, some
will charge you. Some allow multiple submits some only allow one
submission at a time. This a partial list of the good bad and
the "unheard of". There are probably 10 - 15 really
important search engines out there. If you haven't heard of it
then probably no one else has either. Be a wise consumer when
you try to submit your site. If it says "advertisement"
above the submit information -they are trying to sell you something
and it is not necessarily a legitimate submit. |
